Lost an incredible friend and true rascal of the world on January 28th, dear ol dad-in-law Richard Iammarino. He and I shared a deep love of music and if you’ve listened to the show in the past, you’ve probably heard his voice and his stories and his impeccable taste in music. On what would be the eve of his 87th birthday, a very special tribute to the guy with some of his favorites - far-out jazz freak outs, Italian field recordings, heady operatic arias, as well as songs collected from friends and fam dedicated to him. I also edited together some choice bits from our many years of recorded bullshit sessions - a field mixer and mic, a bottle of red, and a whole life of beautiful observations, razor sharp wit, and insane stories.
